Casual Eats & a Sunset?
Casual Eats & a Sunset?
Hey folks, I was wondering what your ideas would be for best casual restuarant/bars (we're bringing two kids 11 & 14) for having a bite to eat and enjoying the sunset?
What are your favorites?
Any inputs would be appreciated, thanks!

Beach Bar, High Tide are good pub food, with sunset views. Nice for the childre to play in the sand while they wait for dinner.
Re: Casual Eats & a Sunset?
I second the beach bar, very casual, great drinks and burgers, and while we were there children were playing on the beach, climbing the trees, walking the dogs...

I third the Beach Bar! Great happy hour specials around sunset, too!

Joe's Rum Hut has pretty good food and pizza (not as good as stateside pizza). They also have the cheapest Happy Hour $3 you call it drinks and they just installed 2 really big screen tv's. Better view of the sunset than the BB in my opinion but I love the BB too. You may also want to give The Barefoot Cowboy a try- not on the beach but a great sunset and the kids can play foosball and pool. They serve really good BBQ.

Don't forget Spyglass . . . good and affordable Happy Hour appetizers. It's in Wharfside Village, up the curved staircasase, above Joe's Rum Hut.

Casual eats and sunset in our house means a late afternoon snack at Tourist Trap, possibly the pulled pork nachos and a drink, and then a hike out to Ram Head to watch the sun go down. The timing can get tricky, because you've got to allow for the approximately 45 minute walk to Ram Head. This means that the eating portion is really too early for dinner. But, you could stop at Shipwreck Landing after the hike to have some dessert!

Or... variation on the above theme...
Pack a picnic of good deli sandwiches, and plenty of liquids, and picnic at Ram Head. If you do that, I recommend a stop at Blue Cobblestone on the way out for a snorkel. Leave your snorkel equipment at the beach when you hike out to the point and pick it up on your return trip. Remember headlamps or flashlights. It gets dark fast.

Carry-outs from your favorite resturant and a sunset from Peace Hill.

Another variation- Sam and Jack deli sandwiches down at Frank Bay- we saw the best sunset ever from there at our trip about ten days ago!
