Fifty and falling apart! Hiking info needed.

I am coming down on Sunday with 2 friends to celebrate a 50th bday. The birthday girl just informed me that she has a bum knee which will limit our hiking. Since my sons and husband are not early risers or avid hikers, I was really looking forward to trying some new ones with the girls! She can walk...

Lisa, when will you be down in July? We would love to meet our PA/STJ neighbors! We will be there July 2-12 and I will be back with friends the 20-24.

Re: Ticker Check

4 weeks until we arrive to celebrate our 25th anniversary! We went to STT for our honeymoon, took the ferry over for a day trip and fell in love. Took us 19 years to get back!

Re: Snorkel Fins

I have used both and not really noticed a difference. I am a runner and a fairly strong swimmer so maybe that is why. We go pretty far out though. If it makes a difference in packing or having to check a bag, I would definitely use them.

Good to know! We haven't been yet either because of the mixed reviews but I was thinking about trying it in July.

Re: Pick up spot at the dock

In March, I pulled up behind the taxis to drop off my 2 cousins at the ferry so I could return the car. The car was running and I just got out to open he back of the jeep and immediately a cop was sternly telling me I couldn't stop there. There were no cars behind me and we stopped for no more than ...

Loving your TR! We have never been to Shipwreck for dinner but have had lunch there 6 or 7 times and it is always great! Maybe because it's not busy or crowded or maybe the lunch menu choices are easier to make well but we have never been disappointed. I did think some of the frozen drinks we had at...

Re: Anguilla, Bonaire - other?

Sue, it sounds like you would like Anguilla. You can snorkel off Shoal Bay and Sandy Hill Bay amongst others. You won't see great coral but you will see fish and turtles. It is nice to have a bunch of great beach restaurants and bars and lots of them do have live music. Several boats also run half d...

Re: Anguilla, Bonaire - other?

We have been to Anguilla 6 times between 2004 and 2010. The beaches are gorgeous and there are lots of villas and hotels on the beach. Lots of great restaurants but no town like Cruz Bay to walk around. The snorkeling is adequate at best. There were no major crime problems then but maybe it has gott...

Aaaaaagh! Those damn towels are the bane of my existence. I bought 6 lovely thick blue striped beach towels from Williams Sonoma that are a little more aqua than the Westin towels but close enough. So now when we exit the water and look for our towels, we can never find them. I should rent mine out ...

Islands magazine

I'm not sure who their fact checker is but there are two questionable items in the May issue. Under the heading, "Wildest Walks", they say that "the Reef Bay Trail is beautiful and downhill all the way. It ends at a beach where a boat will pick you up for just a few bucks". Are t...
