Anegada Day Trip
Anegada Day Trip
We are thinking about taking the ferry to Anegada for the day. What is there to do? What would you do and where would you spend your time?
Anegada Day Trip
We have not done it yet, but it's on our to do list. Friend who have done it said its expensive (food and drink wise) and would recommend renting a car for the day to zip around otherwise you pretty much take a taxi to cow wreck beach and hang out there all day. They've said they prefer Jost/white bay over doing Anegada again. Also you can look up Capitol Air on Facebook. They do a round trip-same day there for $150 each and you're there in 20 minutes instead of 2 hours.

Hi!
I can't really help you decide how to get there or what to do, but I'll offer some photos from February. We ferried from Tortola and departed by ferry to Virgin Gorda; we spent two nights at the Anegada Beach Club. I loved it there and would return for a week of quiet peaceful beautiful walkable beach. My husband is not so sure! We missed the Loblolly Beach area but circled the island in a rental jeep and saw most of it otherwise.
There are scooters for rent near the ferry dock. There is no town as per shopping or bar hopping. People were nice... quite a few sailors on island for the day, and we met some folks who come to Anegada for several weeks each winter. I would suggest having a vehicle if you go.

Re: Anegada Day Trip
We love Anegada and have visited by ferry three times and by boat a half dozen times. It is very different from the other Virgins. I would recommend renting a Jeep from Dean Wheatley. We generally snorkel at Flash of Beauty on Loblolly Bay, have lunch at Big Bamboo on Loblolly and then spend the afternoon on the beach at Cow Wreck Bay. Other places to visit are Anegada Beach Hotel, walk to Pomato Point, Rock Iguana sanctuary... Kelly is a local tour guide who takes people in his boat out on the reef for snorkeling, lobster and conch fishing - text 2845449661.
