Coming back down to STT/STJ for about the 15th time in May with one newbie who is a dedicated fly fisherman interested in shore fishing. Never having done that, I have no idea of where/who...
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Try the flats directly across the street from the parking lot for the Annenberg Ruins/Leinster Bay trailhead. Haven't caught much there ourselves but did see some bonefish. A friend from work caught a tarpon in that same area.
I often see fisherman in Leinster Bay by Annenberg who I think are going for bonefish in that area. I've seen them at Salt Pond Bay and Lameshur as well but I've never seen anyone actually catch anything. Bonefish are extremely hard to catch, maybe because they are so fast.
For a fly fisherman on St. John, Bonefish is by far the game fish you want to go after. Just google Bonefish on St. John and there are some guides available on the island.

I did. They call the bonefish the "ghost of the flats," according to one site.
Beevis and Butthead, or Connie and Minde could yuk it up over that one, too....
