There are a very limited number of parking spots beyond those reserved for the taxis, and your odds of finding one available are akin to those of winning the lottery.

Best bet is to show up about 20/25 past the hour and slowly make your way towards the ferry dock. Have your pickup be ready with their luggage to jump in and load while you stop briefly.

There's usually a line of cars waiting just in front of the taxis, as far right as you can get without running in to them, and the "moving line" to the left, next to the sidewalk. If you get in the moving line too soon and your passenger isn't ready for pick up then you'll have to do the loop past Wharfside.Fish Trap, Rhumblines, post office to get back in line.

It looks like a cluster but isn't as bad as it sounds.

If you're willing to pay 3.00 for an hour, there are a couple of parking lots on strand st., close to the ferry AND the beach bar, you could park, have a painkiller, and wait for your traveler! :D

Have your pick-up walk a block from the ferry. Seems like it is OK to stop and chat on any street and block traffic for as long as you like UNLESS it is in the pick-up area in front of the ferry!
