As if you haven't heard enough

Post by BillVT »

Had a near perfect snorkel at Haulover North today. Not too busy and plenty of sun to light the way. We never seem to go any further than to the point. It just seems the logical and safest point to turn around. Saw a huge Queen Trigger fish. Of course neither of us took the camera along. Each thought the other had it. Nice big schools of fish and healthy coral. Other observations:

If your feet cramp up in your flippers, eat bananas in your morning cereal. No really!

I am regaining a taste for Schaefer beer. New Yorkers will understand. Down here it is a local brew. The brewery is in Puerto Rico. Stick a lime in it.

Even during the busiest week of the year, if you take time to learn about the island you can find an uncrowded beach. No, you can find it yourself. See below.

Even on STJ one hour is a long time to wait for your order.

Tomorrow is Good Friday. Stock up.

Your personal beach was my first STJ beach! No, I won't tell!

I, too, recognize that beach. Don't worry, I won't tell either. Have a great time, BillVT. Next time one of you better take a camera when snorkeling. Would love to see some underwater shots!

A couple of other observances I forgot to add:

It is a long boring swim straight out to Pelican Rock from Vie's. Best to follow the shoreline then out.

I like her chicken and johnny cake but I did take a long boring swim first.

We (vacationers) are almost everywhere this week. Sun burnt, damp, dazed, occasionally confused. T-shirted and bejeweled, at times it is hard to believe that we are not ALL here now. And at the end of the week when many of us leave the island will probably rise a couple feet.

I think tagging our photo as "personal beach" was presumptuous. I'm sorry. It was our personal beach for the day. There, I feel much better.

How timely. Just drove past the old Schaefer brewery yesterday on a trip from
OH to NYC. (snow in PA) We used to say that its the beer to drink if you are having more than 10. Sounds like a great trip. Thanks for the report!
