Suggestions for us in Coral Bay?
We're planning a trip for fall, to spend our Costa Rica money Well, some of it.
We'd like sunrise views this time, a pool, a/c in the bedroom, PRIVACY , and less than $2500/week. Not TOO crazy a drive, but I'm much calmer about roads now. A screened porch would be fantastic, but not absolutely necessary. I'm looking at Sun, Moon and Stars, Papaya Moon, Astral Ridge, and Drake's View. I'm sure I'm missing plenty. Any ideas? We don't need fancy, obviously.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
I was thinking maybe we could scout, when we're there, IN SIXTEEN DAYS
I did look at Coconuts as an alternative, but it's all booked up for when we want to travel.

You're welcome to come take a look at Satinwood while we're there, as we'll be on island at the same time
No AC, but everyone I've talked to has said that the way it sits, that isn't an issue.

minde,
a couple of really nice villas that are close to your price point (for 2) are casa bueno and memory daze. stayed at cb when 1st went on market and rate includes taxes and fees only dislike is steps from parking to living. we visited md last spring and loved location ( 2 minute drive to island blues), fantastic views, all one level but only has queen bedrooms
an econmy villa in great location with ac in 1 bedroom is viewtiful handled by private homes. we visisted couple of yrs ago and great room is roomy, well equipped and has decks with views north to mary point and of course across coral bay all the way to africa. short rocky drive up mamey peak rd and less than 2 min to smoothie stand at intersection of .cl and nth shore rd. bedrooms basic but bargin for price. ladies at phomes are pleasure to deal with, we rented from them 3 times when they handled nautlius.
of course if you looked at coconuts you should consider cloud nine. not as nice as coco after upgrades but has better basic floor plan and ac in great room & loft. another real bargain fo an older soldier.
happy hunting

Take a look at Anchorage Aweigh (http://www.vrbo.com/208460). Great porch, although not screened in; great pool. It's up Seagrape Hill - switchbacky, but not bad (I'm a road wimp). It's owned by forumite Seagrape.

Last year we stayed at Villa Adeste in Coral bay. Wonderful villa. Owners live in apt below but they were great, we never saw them unless we needed something (one time we had a power flip, that turned off the pump to water, they had it back on for us withing 30min).
Villa had wonderful views of Coral Bay harbor and Hurricane hole, great sunrises and views of mountains. Short drive up Seagrape hill, I think only 2 switch backs. Skinny legs and Donkey diner at bottom of hill.
It is a three bedroom villa but it was just my husband and I so we only used the upstairs main house with master bedroom. I think it was $2100 for the week in April.

Coconut Hill (http://www.vrbo.com/115186) and Periwinkle Cottage (http://www.vrbo.com/176761) have big screened porches, pools and spectacular view. They're up Bordeaux Mountain Road, so I don't know how you'd feel about the drive.mindehankins wrote: We'd like sunrise views this time, a pool, a/c in the bedroom, PRIVACY , and less than $2500/week. Island Dreams (http://www.vrbo.com/399708) might suit you really well. Full AC, heated pool, gorgeous view. It's on Bordeaux Mountain Road, but not as far up as the others I listed. I believe that the owner is on this forum and would no doubt be happy to answer any questions. It's a beauty, and right at your price point (assuming you're traveling off-season).
Have you looked at "In Harmony Retreat?" (http://www.vrbo.com/138545). The porch isn't screened, but it is up on the top of the hill without a lot of overhanging foliage, which I think would be a good location for the bug-sensitive. Looks very private, but close to Coral Bay. I can't figure out if it is on Seagrape Hill or one hill over from there.
On the other hand, if you've found a way to get Drake's View for less than $2500/week, then look no further.

Minde, we are staying at SMS this July. The owners are really nice and have been great to work with. Backtotheislands has a reviw on here. We are super excited and from everything BTTI has told me, the place is great. It does have a steep drive (I found a YouTube video with it). Whatever or wherever you choose will be great!
Just another day for you, you and me in Paradise...

Waterlemon has always interested me. The pricing is great and it has a big screened in porch that looks amazing..

Minde, take a look at Periwinkle Cottage, we stayed there a few years back and BevM has stayed there and is going back! It is below your budget, has a/c in one bedroom, a screened in porch, pool and hot tub!! It is located on the road past Love City Mini-Market at the end of a very private cul de sac and gated. I can send you photos, just PM me. It is not fancy, but very well equipped and comfy! The location is very convenient and easy driving!!

FYI, I don't think Waterlemon has A/C.

Minde, I just realized that the link I provided for Periwinkle Cottage doesn't show it, they must be updating their site. Here you go!

Take a look at Fun and Contentment on the Coral Bay Hillside. We stayed there in 2011.

The only ones I really see that are not listed are Summerwind and Bordeaux Breeze. They may work for you. We have them on our list to try for a future trip. Neither have the screened in porch that you are looking for. Summerwind has an outdoor shower while Bordeaux Breeze does not. They are both on Bordeaux mountain not sure if that is where you want to be though.
