two HUGE thumbs up for The Tourist Trap!
We went to The Tourist Trap today. It's now on our must do list. Food and atmosphere was great . I had the lobster roll and Gary had the special for today. It was a BBQ pork loin sandwich with red onion. I'll post food porn later . Both were excellent!! There was another couple there when we first arrived. We started talking with them and it turns out it was trvljohn and his wife Karen. The forum seems to have a large presence on the island. We ran into Betty from the forum and her husband Jim the first night at La Tapa. I can't believe our week here is almost over. Jost tomorrow!
Going "home" again October 26th!
it was invented by larry the co owner-chef/bartender-there is actually a video of him making it in the on st john blog--brenda wrote:Not really sure... Lots of rum . BTW, Gary says hands down, Joe's Rum Hut makes the best Lime in da Coconut.bevm wrote:Then next time, we're stopping!! What's in a "Drink Right, Keep Left"??

We drove by on a Sunday (I believe) when they're typically closed but they were in the midst of a going away party for a young lady that was moving stateside and on her way to Martha's Vineyard, I believe.
Anyway, the gang there welcomed us and we ate & drank for awhile. Larry played harmonica with the two-piece "band" and a good time was had by all.
My sweetie had a Drink Right - Keep Left and it was pretty tasty. There was something like 6 different rums in that sucker! The lobster roll was great.
About as laid-back a place as it can get.

We give the Tourist Trap 10 thumbs up. We loved it. The owner asked us how we heard about him. I told him online and that there was a boy that wanted to go back everyday for th meatball sandwich. We all had something different and ALL of it was fabulous! We were there the day before the party for the server moving Statesid and yes, it was Martha's Vineyard. We loved it!!!

Four thumbs up from this couple! We LOVED the lobster rolls...they were PERFECT. Blaine had a hotdog, too, and said it was great. Everyone there was soooo friendly that I felt like we were back home! When we said we'd heard about the place from VIOL forum, a couple there said "Oh then you must know Ruth!" The lady works for Ruth at St. John Spice It was as close as I got, to meeting any of the St. John superstars
