Woo hoo! We just booked!

Happy dance! So we are known to be a little spontaneous and have been having the St John itch and re-watching saved House Hunters and Caribbean Life episodes lately.. add a little wine with the Ipad last night, and came across an amazing looking villa and today we are booked! After succumbing to the...

Re: Thirteen more days in paradise, final

Always love your trip reports with the amazing pictures!!! Thank you so much for sharing. We were married at Frenchman's Reef and stayed at Morningstar and our honeymoon day trip to St. John started our love affair with St. John. Last year we split our trip between Frenchman's Reef (so our girls cou...

Amazing Day on STJ! And mini Trip Report

So this year we are mixing things up a bit, spending time on STT, STJ and Tortola. We arrived Thurs. afternoon just after 1pm (earliest arrival ever for us) got free rum shots (banana and guava) collected our bags and were off. We are traveling with hubby and I, two girls (6 and 3) and babysitter. H...

Re: Home Away payments - VRBO

We have experience using VRBO Home Away Payments. We used it for our upcoming trip. It is very slick in that it allows you to pay by credit card or e-check without having to give the owner any of your credit card information etc. I feel greater fraud protection paying by CC than paying by check. We ...

Re: Trip Report 8 Tuff Miles

What a great trip report Chicagoans! I remember your story from last year and what a wonderful way to remember your husband. And even with the rest of your trip's highs and lows, illness and lost bags, it sure makes for great memories! We call it an adventure. Thanks also for the wonderful pictures!

Ticker check and just back from mega-Atlantis

Time for a ticker check! We are T-30 days until wheels up for 8 nights, nine nights! Woo hoo! We just returned from a 3 night/4 day award trip my husband won to Atlantis in the Bahamas and not to be ungrateful but we knew right away we wouldn't go back there. The resort is just massive with thousand...

Good for you, 2 beachbums!

Didn't know that Stjchica! We weren't planning Tortola originally so I didn't even think about going that route! I don't even want to look in case the flights are cheaper, but good to know. :D

Re: Living like there's no tomorrow - April trip booked

There are ferries that run from St Thomas to Tortola (50 min) or St. John to Tortola (30 min) about three times a day. I'm not sure if the St Thomas ferry stops in St John on the way. The villa owner offered to reserve our vehicle and the car rental company (Jerry's) will meet us at the ferry. Sound...

Living like there's no tomorrow - April trip booked

So all our good judgment and plans to budget this year have just been thrown out the window (how St. John can do that to you). We could have found a lovely condo in Destin, Florida I'm sure, flights for under $300 rather than $600 a pop. But a few glasses of wine and my husband's convincing argument...

You guys are awesome! I just had a funny feeling. I've been making a lot of inquiries lately and didn't remember that one. Sounded a little fishy! Whew!
