Re: Need Help Deciding on Villa and Area

According to the villa's website, Morgan Point is in Great Cruz Bay, not Cruz Bay.

Good luck with your planning!

Re: Early morning trunk bay?

Not sure if it's okay, but I've done it a few times. Took a taxi. Walked right past the rangers' booth, nodded to a gent who was cleaning up. I believe the bathrooms were locked, however.

Downton Abbey

Help!

We're addicted to "Downton Abbey" (airs tonight on PBS), but where we're staying on STJ we only has Dish TV. It seems to carry every network under the sun except PBS, and no local stations.

Any idea where we might see it tonight? Maybe Quiet Mon?

Thanks.

Re: What does your forum name mean?

I worked at a radio station in Indiana in the late 60s, and one of my jobs was to run the control board and read the news during a Sunday afternoon Classical music show. One Sunday, the show's host decided to go across the street to grab a burger while one of the longer pieces was playing. Well, he ...

Re: Harbour View Battery Hill

Katie, Although I've never stayed in the Harbor View unit at Battery Hill, I've toured it. Let me know what questions you/your friend might have. My wife and I typically stay at Battery Hill because it is within walking distance to/from Cruz Bay. We only rent a car on the days we need one. It's a fa...

Re: Need a condo that's walkable with a stroller

While there are several condos that might work bedroom-wise . . . for safety reasons, I wouldn't suggest you take a child in a stroller on the hills you'd need to negotiate to reach most of them. We walk this area all the time. I agree that Grande Bay is your safest bet.

Re: Looking for Villa - Walking distance to Cruz Bay

I've toured Star Villa, across from Battery Hill.

Although it does have a private pool, I don't believe it has a sunset view.

Re: Looking for Villa - Walking distance to Cruz Bay

There aren't many villas in Cruz Bay, as you probably know. You might consider Gallows Point Seaview Cottage, across the street from Gallows Point. I believe it has everything you want, except the pool. I understand, however, that you can probably access the Gallows Point pool. Looks like a week's s...

Re: Cell Phone Service

I suggest you call Verizon and ask about your options while in the USVI. The information you receive may not be consistent (or even in-sync with Verizon policy), but it's important to be on record at Verizon that you called seeking information before your trip. If you need to negotiate a refund, it ...

Re: Water taxi to and from Solomon Beach

I suggest you contact the friendly folks at Noah's Little Arks with your question. They run the dinghy concesssion on the beach in front of the Beach Bar. They might have some ideas.
