My absolute favorite is the 4th of July for Carnival on St John. It can be a little hot, but who cares? You're at the beach! September is by far the worst hurricane month. It is also the month when a lot of the restaurants are closed.

TERRIBLE news about Sheila!!! :(

Best pizza is Cafe Roma. Ronnie's is great, too. If you're on the East End, try Donkey Diner.

Pia, please keep us updated on Sheila...

Sheila's Pot across from the ferry dock in front of the gazebo. You can feed 3 people for $10 (her portions are HUGE) and it's all made-from-scratch West Indian food. It's delicious and Sheila is a true island treasure.

1. Sheila's Pot. FANTASTIC lady and fantastic food. Plus you get enough food in one $10 meal to feed 3 people. A must as far as I'm concerned. 2. Cafe Roma. YUM! Pizza and pasta are both great. 3. Aqua Bistro. On Friday they have a tuna dish that is fantastic. I forget the name of it, but it's delic...

I did the work exchange last September and am returning in October/November to volunteer for another month. I had an amazing time. The staff there is great. I can't say enough good things about the experience I had there. Are the hours flexible? To a point. It depends on what your skills are and wha...

This may sound crazy, but there is so much salt in the water that you can float all day long with little to no effort. All you have to do is lay on your stomach, breathe through a tube and watch the world around you. You don't have to be a great swimmer to enjoy snorkeling. IMO, no noodle or vest ne...

When will snorkeling be back to normal?

How long does it usually take after a storm like Earl for the water to clear up? Just wondering. I'll be there next Tuesday! Yeah! :P

I was supposed to fly out today, too. US Air allowed me to move my trip a week ahead. Bluebeards and Dollar also changed my reservation without any problems.

Incidentally, I checked my flight out of Charlotte, NC to STT and the flight is on it's way right now, so the airport must back open.

Looking for a church on St. John

I'll be on St. John for 5 weeks and would like to find a (fairly liberal) church to attend. Any advice from some of you residents? Thanks!

Just wondering if there are any places on St. John that have free wifi?
