Re: Alternative to the Snorkel Vest?
Muhaha When are you going to use that vest? I've had my eye on it as a less intrusive peace of mind kinda thing. The deployable vest looks good too. I will be using it in my upcoming trip to Anegada in 3 weeks. I will be sure to give a review on the Scubapro vest when I return. But, I have tried it...

Re: Alternative to the Snorkel Vest?
I just picked up a couple of the Scubapro vests. They are full torso and much better than the typical vest: http://www.leisurepro.com/prod/SCPCSV.h ... MgodEUEAPw

Anegada
We are a few short weeks away from our first trip to Anegada. It feels weird not to go to STJ, but the family wants to experience a completely different island feel and we are looking forward to the quiet solitude that we hope Anegada provides. Last year's trip to STJ was actually on Lovango, so I g...

Re: Crazy Airfare Prices
Just as crazy is the lack of availability on AA milesaaver award travel. Plugged in MIA-STT and there is not a single date available in the entire calendar going out to 2014, but the flights are quite empty. I have been looking daily for 2 weeks and this has been consistent. Something weird is going...

Re: a friend needs dinghy help to Lovango...
Hey Jim, We stayed on Lovango a few months ago. We tried everywhere to find a dinghy rental but none would allow a trip to Lovango. In the end we just had Dan and Marcy run us over if we needed to hit Cruz Bay. We really felt no need to go over much though, Lovango is so private and peaceful. We did...

Re: Name of Villa on Maho Rd/Entrance?
Hi All , Thanks for the info. I believe that has to be it because it is the only villa on the entrance road to the campground (sorry Pia I should have clarified). It could also be Sunnyledge, which is a TERRIFIC villa. To tell the difference, once you make the initial turn off the main road to go u...

WooHoo! I now like the new boardExit Zero wrote:Muhaha - I think it was mentioned before somewhere - at the very top of the page in the blue banner on the line of 'board index' at the far right is a small ^A^ - it will adjust the font.

Re: Updated Site
It seems ok, however my biggest gripe/whine is that the font is frickin HUGE. It is about 2x the font size of the old board and it feels a bit like I am reading a book to my 4 year old
Is the font size user-configurable, or is this something that I will just have to live with?

Villa advice
Hi All, Looking for some advice from the forum as the wife and I are hopefully putting together a trip for the week after Thanksgiving (she just doesn't realize it yet ), without the kids this time. I would appreciate leads on finding a villa that meets the following criteria: - Privacy - Hot ...

How do the beaches compare to STJ? It depends on what you are looking for, snorkeling versus swimming. The beach is long, about the length of Francis. From the dock to the east, it is a smooth rock beach while to the west it is sandy and reminds me of the Jumbie beach. However there is coral immedi...

Re: Lovango first thoughts
There was absolutely no need for planning. Everything you could imagine doing around the water was accessible right from the front door. I loved that no one had to compromise in our large family, we all could do (or not do) on our own schedule right from the house, yet still be together. This really...

Lovango first thoughts
We just returned from 8 days on Lovango at the Beach House. We do plan to do a trip report in a few days, but wanted to share some thoughts on Lovango. First - Dan and Marcy were awesome. Dan is full of stories about the island and STJ, and Marcy has a huge heart. She brought her dogs and horse down...
