Ok, that is officially cool. When I sit on the deck in 3 weeks with my binoculars in hand, I will now know what I am gawking at! Thanks for the link.

I don't think it pre-dates the 1920's, since the back of the postcard states that it is American territory. I would guess 30's or 40's. Cool find.

This is a tough one. It is entirely VRBO's obligation to protect the integrity of their website. I am not sure legally what can be done, but from a good business perspective they need to take care of your loss. It's bad business to have customers terrified to rent from your website. I hate to even s...

I bought one for our 3 year old daughter for our upcoming trip. We haven't used it yet, but I did unpack it and was quite impressed over the quality of construction. I saw one in use at Maho last year and talked to the dad who was hauling his kid around. He said it works great, which spurred me to b...

Interesting topic that has been puzzling me for a while. I booked our late March trip back in Nov. I recently checked to see what the pricing is currently (out of curiosity) and the flight option is no longer showing. But, the flight still has a dozen or so seats remaining. Seems kinda odd to me. Th...

Re: I "get" it so we're going back!

1. The boys will be 13 and 15. Any suggestions of kid-like activities other than the typical beach/snorkel thing. Congrats on the return, you are hooked. This is a tough question. My boys about that age really enjoyed hanging out and snorkeling. They also enjoyed exploring the island and Cruz Bay. ...

Definitely Maho is a place to go, along with Francis Bay just down the road. Waterlemon Cay is also a must. If you want a really nice, different, and somewhat private beach then Jumbie would be good. BTW, we're practically neighbors as we are in Valpo. We'll also be on STJ at the same time :)

Do you think we could book the best western when we arrived in case of delays or any unforseen event which could possible render an advance booking useless? Talking about mid June. I recommend that you book the Best Western. I wouldn't want to be without anywhere to go with a family after arriving ...

OK...you can stomach the costs to build it. Where does the water come from? Is the Westin on "city water" (As it is). Caneel has a huge retention basin to collect water, right? Haven't I seen it hiding in the jungle somewhere near the property? I assume Maho by Marriott would need somethi...
