I asked Rachel about this in April and she said she heard there were plans to rebuild but nothing yet. And still no cause of what caused fire. Wow! They had a groundbreaking the end of February, the Governor was even there, and nothing has started yet. They had said it would be rebuilt and reopened...

Thanks to all for all the information!

I will be getting them either the belt or vest. I use a vest myself (not a very good swimmer) and just for the peace of mind I will spend the money on something for them. What is worth more, cash or safety and peace of mind - safety !!!

Thanks again,
Lydia

STT with 3 kids ?s

Bringing our 3 grandchildren to STT in Feb 2011 and we'll be staying at our timeshare at Bluebeard's Castle. Their ages - 13 yo girl, 12 and 11 yo boys. They all swim fairly well and "dive" or more like jump in deep end of pools. My question is should I bring/buy/rent life vests, the type ...

Thanks to all for the information!

Hate to be a complete idiot about this, but is the beach open to the public and is it a good beach?

Thanks again,
Lydia

Sorry - St. Thomas

From I think Frommers site:

Also on the north side of the island is luscious Grand Beach, one of St. Thomas's most beautiful, attracting families and couples. It opens onto Smith Bay and is near Coral World. Many watersports are available here. The beach is right off Route 38.

nightlife for single males

My son and his friend are thinking of using my STT timeshare in February and would like to know what if any nightlife is available.

They are both in their 30s and looking for some hotspots they could have a good time.

TIA

Iggies Wednesday nights

From their website:
Opens at 3pm - lunch menu served until 5:30pm
Special: Cruzan Carnival Night. Sammy Watts Combo from 6:30pm, Fire eating, glass dancing, limbo show at 8pm.

Has anyone been? What does the $33 include, if anything? Opinions?

Sapphire Beach?

Is everything still closed at Sapphire?

The last I had heard, the snack bar and restaurant was closed. That was awhile back though.

Thanks

I think anything you take in a 3 oz. bottle has to be the original bottle for the product. I don't think you can use those little travel size clear bottles any more.
I don't believe there is anything on the TSA sight that prohibits this.
