Re: The road down past the Denis Bay monstrosity

Are the discrepancies in tax valuations similar across the board (meaning, if this house is valued at $192K, is a much smaller home valued at, say, $50k)?

If you had the following criteria, where would you stay?

(it can be anywhere on island). Perhaps you have stayed, or know of, someplace with the following: King size bed - It can have more than one bedroom, but one bed (preferably the nicest one), should have a king sized bed. The price difference for only using 1 bed vs. using 4 should be notable. I hate...

Re: The road down past the Denis Bay monstrosity

Is that the only developable parcel on that road? Seems like a whole bunch of work for one house. I had never looked at it before, but always assumed most of what is on that road is national park. I wonder how many parcels of private land (within the park) exist on that road?

Gas in Coral Bay

Can anyone living on island chime in on the likelihood of a gas station coming back to Coral Bay? Is there any talk? We used to stay on the east side of the island often, but stopped once the gas station closed. We were just wondering if there is any news about one coming back, or being put in. Than...

Re: South Palm Villa - Virgin Grand Estates

If you look on Sherban's Google Villa Map, it sits to the left of Abrigado (it's the terra cotta colored roof with square pool). We stayed at South Palm if you have any specific questions. https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=109931726631417883397.0004810182846cf026c5...

Re: Showing that you are a forumite

There were T-Shirt and bags sold (I think Vicki was the model!). They said "Haven't I seen you on the Forum?"

Also there were those zippered cooling wraps that go on a bottle of beer (koozies??) sold at St. John Spice. Not sure what the status is of all those items.

Glad to know she received good medical care on island. I think that many people worry about this. You are all troopers! Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Re: Help picking villa for honeymoon

There were beautiful sunrises every morning, which we enjoyed from the tower or pool deck with coffee. The sunsets were also really nice from the tower and partially from the pool (there is a pic of a sunset in my photos as well as a few sunrises). In 2010 we saw some people walking dogs, but we cou...

Re: Help picking villa for honeymoon

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! We stayed at Kaleidoscope in 2010. We wrote a long review here with lots of pics but they have somehow since vanished from the post (I really need to take the time to fix that!). My vote would be for Kaleidoscope on Ditleff. It was perfect in every way and ...

They mentioned on On-StJohn that the crew interviewed Ruth and Ron at St John Spice during the filming. It is times like these when I wish Smell-O-Vision was invented.

Re: South Shore Villa - information

We stayed at South Shore Villa in December and didn't find the drive to be a big deal at all. In fact, we found it to be very convenient to town and loved the area. The road is paved all the way from town to the villa. I don't know, call me crazy, but 15 min from town seems like such a short drive t...
