I don't think crime is rampant. But times have changed. The economy is still not great. So we have to adjust. We have been coming to the Islands for over 25 years. Not just St. John, but Nevis, Montserrat, etc. People have found the Islands because they love the escape. With more people come more pr...

Has anybody found a really good sliding glass door lock? This villa was great. But the door locks were really tough to work. Most villas do have at least a few sliding glass doors.

I want to add that I think there are some villas that are better than others at providing privacy just by where they are located from the road. Bongo Bongo has a steep driveway and you can't see if someone is there or not. But a villa like La Papaya has a driveway right off the road so you can see i...

Neighborhood Watch - La Papaya

Allow me to give you a heads up. It never hurts to be watchful. JK and I came in on a Saturday but had to leave on a Thursday. Other members of our party came in on Friday and did not have to leave until Monday. The second Saturday of the trip Ruth and party came back to the villa at 6:30 PM only to...

I really like the date the container thing. Sometimes I do that at home since I cook in spurts. (Right now I am making chili.) Okay, so Canada Ruth, you have to remind me to bring a magic marker. Oh! I could leave that! I found these really cool ones that have a different tip on each end.

I am so jealous! You got to spend time with her and we have to wait to see her until October. Oh but wait. A good time will be had by all. With any luck I won't remember a thing except for the drink I had in my hand. Does that sound bad? Okay, I want to remember if Jorge plays in the band again. And...

Here is the challenge.

What is the BEST thing that you have ever left by accident or on purpose?

What is the WORST thing you have ever left?

I am NOT going first!

Wherever we have rented a villa there has been somehting in the kitchen I can't live without so I purchase the item and leave it at the villa - I often wonder how the kitchen can be so sparse - it makes me wonder if there are people who take things from the villa that they like? we always leave foo...

I never bring a gift and I can't remember anyone every leaving one back when I was in villa management. I get that it is a nice idea, but I am paying a bunch of money to stay there, I don't feel obligated to bring a gift. I guess if I were to rent the same villa each year directly from the owner, I...
