Re: Baggage tips?
On our last trip I was informed that the ferry guy are not supposed to accept tips. We did not tip and did not observe anyone else tipping either. There was a per bag fee, I believe it was $2.00 per bag.

Re: What does your forum name mean?
12 years ago I quit smoking with the support of the forums on Quitnet. The day I joined up, someone posted a thread to serve as a distraciton from our communal cravings. It was an exerpt from a children's book invovling someone named "Captain Underpants" and was one of thosw word lists whe...

Captain Phil's boat, the Wayward Sailor, takes a maximum of 6, and he is absolutely wonderful for snorkel trips. he snorkels along with you and is an expert at identifying and teaching about the various underwater creatures you encounter. We were told at check in that we did not need ot do dishes or clean up before check out, but we cleaned up after ourselves anyways. We did dishes, put them away and cleaned the kithchen and dining areas thoroughly. Left the towels by the washer. Took the trash with us and dropped it in the dumpster.

Re: Snorkel lesson suggestions?
My husband and I rented snorkel gear and hiked to Honeymoon Beach for our first snorkel. We got the hang of it in the first 5 minutes and the snorkeling there was fantastic. If you've had prior practice in the pool, you're good to go. Pick a known easy spot for your first try and enjoy! I can also h...

I can really hear that clock a'ticking now, and even though I don't leave until Thursday I am now officially packed with the exception of shoes and toothbrush. Re: Your best day on St John
My best day was my very first day - it was the day I "got it." It started at sunrise watching the first ferry chug into Cruz Bay and the town slowly awaken while I sat on my balcony with morning coffee, roosters crowing, frigate bird circling over to bay... what an utter sense of peace and...

Just blow on by, Dorian. I've waited 10 years for trip #2 and I will NOT have you spoil it. You better be WELL outta there by the time I arrive to catch teh ferry to Virgin Gorda on Thursday, and tell all your little friends back in Africa to just forget about venturing westward for awhile, too. Boo...
