Re: Trip Report – May/June – Part 1
I appreciate the snorkel report, too! We saw a large Nurse Shark at Hansen - at least 7 and possibly 8 feet long (Nurses have long tails). Her size was intimidating but she didn't seem to mind us hanging around her so we did for a long while. It was one of our most memorable snorkels around St. John...

Re: Two more weeks in paradise, final
We would love to try Ted's Supper Club one of theses days. On our first trip to St. John, we ate at Paradiso where he was the chef at the time. We were impressed and went back a few nights later (we don't usually go to the same upscale restaurants twice on one trip). I love that Francis location whe...

Re: Two more weeks in paradise, part one
Lazing away is not hard to do on St. John. :) It's nice to have a beach, even if it's pebbly, right outside the door. How do you like the location? We've stayed in that area twice but higher up. We walked down to Klein Bay. I recall walking back up was a bit of a struggle. When you snorkeled Klein B...

Re: Recs for Birthday Dinner?
Extra Virgin Bistro offers some great food. There is no view to enjoy while dining and that might be a drawback. I second liamsaunt - I think Ted's Supper Club will be a great choice. We haven’t had his private chef service but used to go to Paradiso and Tage when he was the chef there. If where you...

Re: pools separate from house or with safety gates
We stayed at Le Lapin ll in 2006. The house and the pool are separated by steps and a gate, which I think is good for families with small children. Two identical master bedrooms are upstairs. Two twin bedrooms are downstairs as well as the main room with the kitchen and the laundry room. It's not up...

PL3 - thank you. :) Glad you enjoyed Summerwind and Sea Wing. They are great houses. Seawing will be our "more affordable" option from now on. Summerwind is our favorite of the properties that we've stayed in that area. If we opt to stay up on Bordeaux, we will happily stay at Summerwind ...

Vol. 1: http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/virgin-islands/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28366#.V2LgJkv0xxE ----- Changeover Day ----- We love the sea. We also admire mountains. We have stayed in the area of Bordeaux Mountain twice at different villas and liked the feel of a mountain retreat. We find it...

Great shot of the Queen Angelfish between the point on the right of Maho and what we refer to as "Bird Poop Rock". I assume the rock is covered with bird poop (?). I guess I've never noticed. As for the Queen Angels, they are strikingly beautiful! Fairy basslets are one of my favorite fis...

Re: Pic's Pics & Report: May & June 2016 - Vol.1
I share your passion for snorkeling and your excellent pictures makes me feel like I am snorkeling beside you. I'm happy that you feel that way. :) While I do love snorkeling, I often don't last long due to motion/sea sickness. I am susceptible to motion sickness, too. As much as I love St. John, i...

Pic's Pics & Report: May & June 2016 - Vol.1
Yes… we were back on island. When we left St. John last summer, we weren't sure if we could return this off-season. We made it happen with some sacrifices. I will find out how stinging those sacrifices are at the end of this year - but for now, I am glad that we made more happy memories on St. John....

Re: 951 days since my last visit to STJ
Happy to hear that you both had a relaxing time on St. John. Sure looked relaxed in the water at Honeymoon…
I just looked through your photos. We had no sunset views from where we stayed and it was nice to see what it was like on the other side of the island. Thank you for sharing!

Re: March Trip Report
Great photos of different islands, jmq. We visited Kauai over 20 years ago and look back on that trip fondly. These are some wonderful shots you took there and Maui. If we hadn't found St. John, we might have visited Hawaii (and other places) again, but... well, you know. How did you like that full-...

Re: May 2-11 Trip Report
Very much enjoyed reading your trip report. We usually stay on St. John for a couple of weeks and during that time I start to crave my comfort food (unfortunately, I don't find it on the island). That's something that I have to deal with... and I gladly do so. I treasure our time on St. John so much...
