Re: Stereos on the beaches/ littering-
We had that experience last month on Francis. My daughter and I were relaxing and a group of young girls were playing the music and drinking. The music and their voices getting progressively louder as the champagne consumption increased. We decided to leave. Now I've been coming down since the 80's ...

Re: Caribbean Lobster - How to Cook & Recipes
The basics - marinate the tails in about a quarter cup of oil with a squeeze of lemon (onion or garlic) if you like. Cut the webbing over the meat with kitchen scissors or knife and turn over and crack the shell once with a mallet (so they lay flat). Grill about 5 min. each side while enjoying the b...

Re: Save Coral Bay Fund Raiser
Great idea to post link here. I'll send a check to help the cause - it is certainly an uphill battle. We've been fortunate enough to visit since the 80's and find Coral Bay and the East End a haven from the increasing crowds in Cruz Bay. Personally I hope it doesn't change drastically. I'm not techn...

Re: Cemeteries on St. John?
There are multiple cemeteries on St John - 3 I can think of easily - one past the Cruz Bay Beach toward Gallows Point, Coral Bay near Calabash Boom and a small one opposite Vi's on the East End. You are smart to seek info ahead. I hope someone knowledgeable can assist. Good luck in your efforts - I ...

Re: watercolor of St. John
I once had beautiful watercolor notecards by Karla Fredricks. I remember having my eye on a larger piece of Honeymoon Beach that I regret we didn't buy. The prices were very reasonable but this was probably ten years ago.

Re: Deli Grotto -What to Order?
I like the Ahi Tuna sandwich at Deli Grotto.
I also like croissant sandwiches from Baked in the Sun (esp. Turkey BLT) they are affordable and open early.

We are not partial to any spot on island - We usually like Coral Bay but since other groups for the wedding will near Cruz we're open to the South Shore as well. Ocean is gorgeous but out of our budget range sadly. Thanks for all the advice so far. Some are already booked - Bay Rum Breeze a real con...

Re: Doing things different this time
We fall on the STT side of the car rental equasion. We just find it so convenient to put the bags in the car once and drive right off the barge onto St. John and right to the villa. The ferry fares and per bag charges have risen so it's also pretty comparable when you consider no taxi, ferry and tip...

Important villa search April 15th 2015
Would love advice - we are seeking a three bedroom villa for our family next spring. I say important because our daughter is getting married on St. John and we hope to find a stress free villa for our stay. The bride to be already has a 5 bedroom reserved for the bridal party couples. Most important...

Re: Car Rental for "under 25"?
We were able to help my daughter last year ( who didn't have a credit card ) by providing our credit card and showing proof of insurance. She was just of age but I would ask if you were willing to do that. She just reimbursed us for the charge on out credit card. We worked with Discount on St. Thoma...
