I expect that folks will quickly adapt to windmills all over the remaining hillsides and actually come to love them and be photographed leaning against one. Ya pave paradise, put up a...windmill. Then I'm OK with it if it's good for the local residents. Sorry, Pip. That really doesn't play in Pough...

I think that the Spring Break crowds you'll find are mostly families with school age kids rather than the classic HS/College Girls Gone Wild crowd. STJ prices that bunch out for the most part and they can't rent villas. It sounds like some places track Spring Break with Easter this year and others d...

Spring Break may not be that much of a threat. Ours ends on April 3.

We were down in April '09 and it was great except for an algae bloom that screwed with the snorkeling. But so what, still saw lots of great stuff, just had to get a little closer. The weather was fine.

Hey Dan Yep...your ferry plan is correct. The STJ-WE ferry runs 3 times on Thurs and the WE-JVD ferrry runs 4 times after the earliest STJ-WE arrival. You'll want to double-check (a call would be wise) just to be on the safe side. On JVD, its all beach bars as far as White Bay and Great Harbor go. Y...

Tortola is fine...there are no more issues there than on STJ. The villa burglaries mentioned were year's back. The muggings were in the wee hours in Road Town. The roads are fine with the exception of the short stretch between Long Bay and Smuggler's and a few other obscure areas. Bottom-line...you ...

Congratulations on your pathology! We found Coral Bay to have anything and everything we needed during our stay. The vibe is nice and low key and great beaches only 10-15 min away, north or east. I can think of no better way to recuperate. Very happy for you to be able to utilize St John in this way.

Auctions for Repairs on Anegada

As you probably know, Anegada was hit pretty hard by Earl. In particular, Potters by the Sea was smashed. Check out the pics (scroll down) http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1204867 To benefit the uninsured Potter, gracious folks have organized a fundraiser. Part I ...

In all honesty EQ, I wouldn't rely on a natural mosquito repellent or SoS. Just too much at risk these days.

Normally, I'm right there with you using SoS but for now, a good % of DEET is the right Rx.

This is really nasty. Obviously, its a killer. My sweetie has compromised platlets and WBC production and this is the deal-breaker.

There is no way we'll be headed for the islands anytime soon. Not till this calms way down. Take care down there!
