Re: Budget/Thrifty
We used to be loyal to Budget but after 3 trips in a row of waiting for hours for a Jeep to arrive at the airport so we could leave, we're done with them. No problems taking their Jeeps on the ferry, though.
I'm not sure about Thrifty.
I'm guessing that Amalie is booked?

Re: Food
Shipping food down before you get there really isn't a viable option unless it's all non-perishables; shipping times can vary wildly and there's no place to store perishable items on the other end. If you want to ship non-perishables, you can talk to your villa rental company and ask them to hold a ...

Re: Villa search?
Have you tried going here and clicking on Coral Bay?:

Or are you trying to search by specific dates and it's giving you more than Coral Bay?
There are many good on-island rental companies, do you want a list?

Re: Taxi with car seat?
We've traveled to STJ with car seats many times. Unfortunately, I've heard bad things about taxis and car seats on STT. People have said that taxi drivers can be rude about car seats and refuse to allow you to install them. There's no way I would let my kiddos go without a car seat for the trip from...

Re: Honeymoon Beach
Yes, I think we did the hike from the national park headquarters if that is the Lind Point trail, not bad hiking there but the way back is tiring after a long day on the beach. Thanks for your reply! Yes, you can park at the NPS Visitors' Center and hike the Lind Point Trail from there. It is a bit...

Re: Honeymoon Beach
I have never done it, but my understanding is that yes, you can still get there through Caneel's property, but you'll have to walk in from the road. Have you considered the Lind Point Trail instead? Then you wouldn't have to pay for a taxi...nor would you have to wait for a taxi to come by on your r...

Re: I'm Baaack - and need your help!
A taxi to Cruz Bay from Concordia and back would cost a small fortune, and that is if you could even find taxi drivers to make the trip, which is pretty unlikely. How many bedrooms do you need, total? Is the trip for this year? If so, finding a rental vehicle could be a challenge since it's only a c...

Glad to hear it!iheartsj wrote:This is rezoning to allow the construction on the ball field. This did not approve the marina. Sirius/T-Rex still has a long way to go (years) for permitting.

Re: photo and camera tips
I would highly recommend a polarizing filter and figuring out how to use it; it will make a world of difference for water and sky shots. I have a Canon DSLR and the battery lasts me two weeks on STJ, but SLRs are different than point and shoots. Poor quality zoom shots are often the result of a digi...

Re: Decision Decision
Thanks Teresa. Yeah, I wasn't planning on the 2DR Wranglers. We are trying to fit 8 adults with luggage in 2 (4DR) Wranglers. All the guys are taking carry ons but the women are checking so we're not sure if we need an Explorer or larger SUV in addition to 1 Wrangler. This is what we fit into a 4-d...

Re: Decision Decision
4-door Wranglers are good sized and can easily fit 4 adults. I would absolutely not recommend a 2-door Wrangler for four adults.jaybfloyd wrote:Appreciate it stewdog! We're trying to do 2 vehicles with 8 adults. Are Wranglers necessary or is a SUV acceptable? Guess it would need to be 4wd preferably.
