What a wonderful trip report--your son is a very handsome, funny and lucky child to have such a great family! Love the moustache! Thank you for sharing. We first brought our daughter to STJ when she was 6 and had many of the same thoughts as you and sure enough, she took to the island like...well......

just returned--great story about why we love STJ!

Hard to believe we swam in Francis Bay yesterday morning and had to go back to work today! We had a great trip, pictures to follow, but I wanted to share a story about one of the reasons (among many) that we love St. John, and why sometimes good things really do come out of bad situations. We ...

on island now...record travel day!

What a beautiful morning on St. John. We arrived yesterday and miracle of miracles, every flight was on time, we had no bad weather, no tie ups on STT, and made the 2:00 ferry! It was like having an extra day! Usually we are so exhausted when we arrive that we barely unpack and grab some food. On a ...

anyone have Rachel's phone number?

Hi--we just changed our travel plans and instead of renting a car on STT we now need a taxi to red Hook on Sunday. Anyone have Rache;'s #? Thanks so much!

snorkelqueen, your ideas is one of our favorite things to do on island...counting the days until we leave next week! We also love buying one of the rotisserie chickens from Starfish and using it for a main meal then for leftover sandwiches, late night snack, etc. Last time we bought a roll of cresce...

What a wonderful story! We are encouraging our daughter to do the same thing, she is only 16 though and was disappointed to find out she had to wait 2 more years. We will be there that week as well, it would be neat to meet your nephew and have our daughters hear more about what it's like to work ad...

My husband is a teacher and we were fortunate to get to spend some time with him at his home last spring. He was already ailing but had many wonderful stories to share. We are grateful for all that he did for the children of the VI's and the impact he had on so many people. We treasure the book he g...

djmom, We just did the hike in April with our 15 year old daughter, and believe me I was WAY more nervous than she was! She thought it was nothing to scramble up and down the trail, while I walked along in a state of near panic! Just follow the advice here, wear good shoes, take plenty of wate...

We will be there that week as well but luckily we are staying up on the hill over Cruz Bay so we will watch the fireworks from there. The daytime events are great fun, the whole town is buzzing but it has never been too crowded for us, just very festive. The parade is the highlight of the day for us...

Although it was high season, the same thing happened to us in April...we ended up going to Kauai from Detroit for less than it would have cost to fly into STT. Luckily we fell in love with Kauai! There must be significantly fewer going into STT.
