Maria
Thanks so much for the reply. I hope you dont mind I have a few more questions- what kind of construction was it? Did it start really early in the morning? Did it appear to be nearing it's completion? Being on the point, did it have good breezes? Thanks again.

Absolutely! I purchased savemaho.org. and I am setting up a NPO over the next couple of weeks. I will be raising money for the purchase of this tract or at least to hopefully subsidize the TPL in any deal they make with the land owner. Of course, we still have the obstacle of the land owner's outrag...

Garrison
Thanks Hugo. I talked to Mr. Garrison today at the TPL. That guy is inspiring. He basically told me what you just said which was that the $2.25 Million was a loan to purchase the Estate Maho 400 acre tract from the TPL. The $2.25 Million is essentially a down payment on a $9 Million dollar price tag...

The 13.8 acre tract is the Little Maho Campground property that Stanley Selengut has been leasing since the 1970's. If the money appropriated is ear-marked for that acquisition, it is not intended to pay all of it, it is mere as much as they could get approval on, and TPL will have to do aggressive...

Maho Bay Story
As you all may or may not know, the Omnibus Bill that Obama signed on March 11th, included $2.25 Million for the "Acquisition of Maho Bay by the VINP". Does anyone have any idea what this funding was approved to purchase exactly on Maho Bay? Was it to purchase the remaining Marsh heir's tr...

I'll call Garrison at the TPL Monday. Couldn't someone just set up a non-profit entity, raise the money, buy the land and then give it directly to the VINP? Why would we have to ho through the TPL? I know they are a great organization but if I call Monday and find out that they don't have a fund set...

Rally
I wish we could rally everyone on this blog and perhaps create a web campaign to raise money to purchase more of the land for the VINP.

Pond Bay Construction
Does anyone know if the Pond Bay construction can be heard from Maria Bluff? I can't find a good detailed map online and I can't tell how far away the site is.

You'll find some numbers here: http://www.vinow.com/usvi/weather.php Officially hurricane season is June-November. Late August through September are peak. As the numbers show, June is the beginning of hurricane season, but there have been no recorded hurricanes in that month. The odds are greatly a...
