Re: If you could split your trip

I would take the Thursday ferry from Cruz Bay to Virgin Gorda and check into Guavaberry Spring Bay for three nights. Friday, I would to take the fast ferry over to Anegada for a day trip. Rent a Jeep, go find the pink flamingos, check out Loblolly and Cow Wreck and have a lobster lunch of the best C...

Re: Favorite place for conch fritters ?

The best? Big Bamboo on Anegada. On St. John, I'd have to agree with Shipwreck and Aqua Bistro.

Grubby at Aqua Bistro is fine. Not so much at ZoZo's.

Re: BVI trip-where?

Virgin Gorda is a great choice. We stayed at Guavaberry Spring Bay last fall and it was very reasonable and very comfortable. You can't beat the beach there. If you go to VG, be sure to plan a day trip to Anegada. You can take the high speed ferry from Spanish Town. My first choice for the BVI, howe...

Re: 3rd Timer - Daysail Advice?

Kekoa is fantastic. Don't know what your price range is, but if you can swing it, I'd highly recommend it. More than enough room for all of you and several more friends. It's a family owned operation and they are as nice as can be. The two brothers that own the business built the boat and it has a g...

Middle of November. I haven't heard an official date yet -- only that they wanted to be open before Thanksgiving.

Island Blues is closed for good. A new owner has purchased it, changing the name to Caribbean Blues, and is in the process of doing renovations. They hope to open by the middle of the month with a limited menu. Later they will have a full menu. They are still planning on doing live music like Island...

If you go through Low Key, you can rent center console dinghies that look a lot more comfortable. I'd go the dinghy route. We had a blast in them. If the seas are rough, though, the trip around Mary's point would be pretty rough. <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.d...

I just went on a day sail with Kekoa yesterday. www.blacksailbvi.com I can't recommend it enough! The boat is amazing, the captain is terrific and the trip gives you enough time at each stop so that you don't feel like you're being herded from one stop to another. We went to Great Thatch, Sandy Spit...

Jost definately. The Baths are a little too far to sail there and back in one day. You'd have to do a power boat trip for that.

Check this out for a day trip to Jost:

That's what I was hoping when she told me they closed, but she said that the owners do not intend to reopen. They are done. Someone else might be able to take over the lease...are you interested??? :?:

Island Blues is closed

So I just heard from my good friend in Coral Bay that the owners of Island Blues have closed the place down. Very sad news. It was one of my favorite hang-outs. <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.com/iTnPm5.png" width="400" height="80&q...

If it were me, I'd forgo the taxis and car rental and rent a dinghy instead. You could jump off the ferry, jump into your dinghy and be on your way. <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.com/iTnPm5.png" width="400" height="80" border=...
