What do you want to do? A lot of snorkeling or spend some time on a beach with some cold beverages? Once you decide, discuss the days itinerary with your captain to see who can provide what you're looking for. You'll enjoy both!

Loved your reports.
We enjoyed VG a lot, but haven't returned due to logistics. Maybe we'll try Seaborne next time. The planes, ferries, taxi's to VG reminded me of an episode of the Amazing Race.

Re: Playing the waiting game trip #6!
It's a crap shoot :D I agree with X - I usually book when I see a flight I like. If they flights go down, you may have an opportunity to get a credit. It also depends on how many in your party and the time of June. Although, off season, I think later in June flights may book faster as more summer va...

Go back to ticker factory, create a new one, then replace the code in your signature. Looks like you've still got an old one there.

With such an early flight, I'd also stay at one of the places by the airport. I think you can walk from one of them. I imagine you'd be able to store luggage and hang out at Caneel for as long as you need.

Re: Ever had a flat tire on STJ?
We haven't had a flat, but did have some car starting issues out at Lameshur last November. Fortunately, a few bangs on the battery terminals got it started. When we returned the car at the end of the week and reported the incident, they guy sounded as though they would have come out to rescue us - ...

Re: Need a condo that's walkable with a stroller
I believe Palm Terrace is up Seagrape Lane off Frank's Bay. It's maybe a 7-10 minute walk. The hill down to Frank Bay is short, but steep (and tricky in flip-flops if wet :? ). We stayed in that neighborhood last November and really liked it. The walk was good exercise. (we stayed at Aqua Bay villas...

I fell in love with the USVI on Magen's Bay in 1976. Of course, it was a lot less crowded back then. If not a huge cruise ship day, definitely worth a visit.

Re: Just ridiculous!
I know many say "any day on St. John is better than ...", however, I think being there with the best things inaccessible must be draining. Don and I went to the Grand Canyon last week. I would have been devastated if our trip had been planned during this shutdown and we had to find Plan B....

Re: 8:00 pm Arrival - Where to Stay the 1st Night
We have arrived late and headed over to St. John. We couldn't get into our villa and spent the night at the St. John Inn. They were aware of our late arrival and just left the keys taped to the office door. We had a taxi bring us down and wait until we got the luggage in the room, then he drove us b...

We do dishes, but have never done villa laundry. We may have stripped the bed on occasion. Put away anything we used and will sweep if we can find a broom.

Re: Delta $269 flight direct to STT for May 2014 NOT!
Still a pretty good fare even with one stop. If the flight number is the same and you don't change planes, it is technically still considered direct!
