Re: Island Stones
We were wondering how the villa fared during the storm. All of the online reviews were wonderful but there aren't any after 2016. The last one that we saw said that the villa was "getting run down and needed some TLC". I was hoping someone was there recently and could let us know their tho...

Island Stones
We are renting Island Stones on our next trip to St John. All of the reviews we can find are from several years ago. Has anyone stayed there lately?

Re: Dry storage for valuables
We bought a waterproof backpack for our last trip and it was great. We put all of our clothes, wallets, cell phones into it for a boat trip and everything stayed dry. The company is Drycase. (Drycase.com) They have other waterproof products too but we didn't use those. We also bought a waterproof ca...

Re: Canada Stays
This turned into a bigger story than I originally thought. Turned out there were two "fake" listings on VRBO for the same property. Neither was authorized to rent for the owner who has their own listing on VRBO. I spoke with the owner's manager, who is on-island yesterday. They have been t...

Re: Canada Stays
The house was Great Turtle Villa. There were two listings, one was the real rental company and the other was Canada Stays' ad.

Re: Canada Stays
I contacted VRBO regarding the property and this was their reply: "I left you a voicemail just now -- feel free to call back at your convenience to discuss. The other listing you see from "Canada Stays" is a major listing site (in fact they are partnered with VRBO), but I'm not sure i...

Canada Stays
Looking to book a villa for late February. The agent representing the villa is a Canadian Company called Canada Stays. Has anyone else used this company to book their villa? Makes me nervous to book a villa in the USVI using a Canadian Company. Their website seems legit but I have heard some bad sto...

Re: 6+ BR rentals??
The water pressure wasn't great in some bathrooms (mostly the upper) We stayed in an upper bedroom last year and it wasn't too bad. However we are very careful about the water usage and are in and out quickly and turn the water off unless we are rinsing off. There were five couple travelling with us...

Re: Advice on snorkel fins
Thanks so much for all of your advice. It makes sense to rent until we figure out what we like. Then I will be looking for a local dive shop so that I can find a mask that fits the right way. Any thoughts on the Tribord all in one masks. We saw a lot of people using them last year. They are a little...

Advice on snorkel fins
My husband and I finally tried snorkeling when we were on St. John in January and loved it. We borrowed gear from a couple that was vacationing with us. I wanted to buy him his own gear as a birthday gift for our trip next year. I began to look online and realize that I am totally out of my comfort ...

Re: 6+ BR rentals??
We have stayed at Ocean Palm Villa for the last six years. The property went through a rough time when the bank took it. However over the last two years the property has really made a come back. The management company is doing a great job and we are returning next year. You can rent the Ocean Palm V...

Re: Experiences with spirit air
We flew home on Spirit Airlines last March after 10 days on island. We departed ten minutes late in order for the airline congestion over Miami to ease up a bit. We landed on time but had to wait for a gate. After we left the plane and searched to find our connecting gate, we were told that due to c...
