We stayed there on our first trip to St John. It was FANTASTIC! We were totally isolated. At the time, the house next door was vacant, and the only other house on the hillside, Hawksview Estate, was being built. Glad to hear it is still somewhat private.

Do I have comments...... hmmmmm....I am on my second iphone4. The first one kept telling me "no sim card". I could never use it. Then when we were on Virgin Gorda, it never left the air conditioning b/c it would not work anyway. I went to pick it up and it was soooo hot. It overheated neve...

No I haven't been through customs with meat or any food, and yes, they are more serious there. You would be more likely to get an answer on TTOL (www.traveltalkonline.com). We just returned from VG. We had two adults and four kids, from 10 to 18. We stayed at a villa in Mahoe Bay. It was really nice...

Just curious why you are taking meat with you. We bought tenderloin roasts and cut steaks. We get some of the best meat down there, and the roasts we bought were the same price as the one we bought at home yesterday.

Just seems like a hassle to go through customs with meat!

We provisioned in STT as well as Tortola. IMO it is much better to get groceries in Tortola. We used Bobby's to provision at the beginning of our trip once. We didn't get everything right but it was okay. There is a "little" store in Great Harbour next to the ice cream shop. A very nice ma...

As far as groceries, we shopped in Tortola and brought them on the ferry. They will pack the groceries in boxes. After the first week, we took the ferry to West End and shopped at the grocery store at Soper's Hole to restock. We bought for breakfast and lunch. We left dinner to Foxys, Ali Babas, Syd...

The Pink House is great! They have recently updated the kitchen (ss appliances, AC in the bedrooms, new linens). It was so nice to just walk out on the beach and not have to make the walk up the hill to WBV, even though, I do love the views from up there. That walk gets tough after too many Caribs a...

We spent two weeks on Jost, and it has been my family's favorite vacation! Everyone said we were crazy to spend 2 weeks there especially with kids. We just returned from Virgin Gorda and everyone said they wish we would have gone to Jost. If you have any questions about lodging, just ask. If it is j...
