Soma is a riot! Nils (the owner and captain of Soma)is a great guy and will show you a good time. We sailed on Soma February of 2006. Sailed to Jost and spent the day there-great time. It CAN be relaxing too! It is a fast boat, and Nils has done well racing it. We caught up with him this year after ...

Overrated - Have to agree with others on the Willie T, first and last trip there this year.
Underrated - Food at the Beach Bar. Shipwreck Landing, great food, relaxing, all around great place. Cafe Roma, we ate there twice and had real good meals.

All I can say is if your a smoker don't let Pete know, he has nice boats and no problem going to the BVI's. Just don't back-up fast or stop all of the sudden in large swells, watched one of his boats sink in front of Foxy's 3 weeks ago. He was not a happy man.

If thats the case she has a can or box (can't remember, too many beers)by the gate, it's an honor system deal.

cypressgirl - Vie's is out on the East end, you go past skinnylegs a mile or so and her food stand will be on your left and the gate to the beach is across the road. Plenty of lounge chairs so you don't need to bring a beach chair. She charges $2.50 per person for the use of her beach, at least I th...

Trip Report Part 2 - 2/23/07-3/9/07

OK, where did we leave off.... Vibe charters. We chartered a power catamaran called VIBE with Captain Jordan. We had thought about just chartering a boat ourselves but decided we would be better off with a captain. This way we could drink and relax without worrying about where we were and the time, ...

Chrisn - That is a great view, for that alone we would book Capiz again, can't beat the pool either. My wife and I both agree, we would stay there again. And we are a little/sorta picky too.

iowaguy - We do crazy spur of the moment stuff like that all the time, keeps things interesting. I have to say after spending 2 days with Han at Sail Safaris I got a pretty good handle on sailing, can't say enough about how good he is at explaining how to sail, plus he supplied beer!!! The best day ...

Augie - Traffic was pretty congested and as we all know parking is a problem. We used Slimmans lot a few times also we rented from St. John car rental so we used their lot when spaces were available. Gift hill can be a trip when coming from town past the Westen, very steep with two switch backs. I t...

Trip Report 2/23/07-3/9/07

Well, we're back from 2 great weeks on STJ. What can I say, other than we had a great time... Tom and I are in a big ol' blue funk though, as the weather in here is not good. It's snowed twice since we've been back. Makes me want to chuck it all in and move down there!! We spent our first night on S...

We're leaving tomorrow but don't get our Villa until Saturday, so we are staying the night on STT at the Best Western. Short walk from the Airport. It's an option.

Ron, We also have done the houseboat vacation on Lake Cumberland, we were checking into it for this summer but when I checked State Docks prices I almost feel out of my chair. Man they have really gone up since we last went. On the other hand what a TOTAL BLAST with the right group of people, anothe...

Thanks everyone, very good info from all. We are leaning towards going with a Caption because none of really have any boating experience so why ruin a fun day worrying about what your doing & where your going.
Thanks again...Tom & Lisa.
