Re: So many beaches - so little time!
54B - you are reading my mind  Question about the trail to Solomon ... is it feasible to bring chairs/cooler for a beach day or is it a backpack only kind of hike? Honeymoon has a rental facility that has chaise lounges if you want to rent them. I don't know the exact price but I don't think i...

Re: Caneel Hill hike
Thanks! Caneel Hill and Ram Head are on the itinerary! We only have 4 full days so shorter hikes are what we are looking for. And there are just the 3 of us so no one else to come pick us up. I definitely plan on doing Reef Bay when I come back in July with my husband.

Caneel Hill hike
We haven't done much hiking because most of our trips are in July and included my lazy sons. I am bringing my cousins down in early March and are looking for some moderate hikes with amazing views. Can anyone tell me approx. how long it takes to hike up to viewing platform and back? I also pla...

I still need to try your cilantro infused margarita. I feel like we are kindred spirits with the herb infused cocktails!

Re: What is your villa calculus?
Maybe I am in the minority but I like "stuff" in my view rather than open water. I like to see STT and even other villas on the hills below me. That being said, my villa calculus would be in descending order of importance: Outdoor shower, location, pool area, view, house decor, landscaping...

Re: Cimmaron Rentals
I can't comment on the villa but I can vouch for Cimmaron because they caretake our house. They are very professional and I have read comments from people who have rented through them and they were all positive.

Re: Large and in charge! A trip report
What fun! One of my college friends had parents like you and I have very fond memories of their hospitality and how they seemed to truly enjoy their kids and their friends. Too funny about going to the wrong airport. My 20-something cousins move through life that way too. Where did you get those fi...

Re: Large and in charge! A trip report
I came really close to ordering a large drink on the plane after the airport fiasco. I must say the United gate agents were super nice and wrangled one of the cart drivers to take me up to intercept him after he got through security. RickG, they loved Cruz Bay! Due to their schedule, whether it's ga...

Large and in charge! A trip report
If you felt the Cruz Bay side of the island shake a little last Thursday, it was not an earthquake. It was just our group disembarking from Dohm's water taxi. We brought our 20yo son and 3 college roommates ( all football players ) for 5 days of sun, fun and massive quantities of food and beer. They...

Re: Sport fishing suggestions?
We had a great time yesterday! Eric and Matt were our captains and we were on the 40' boat bc there are 6 of us. They said they have had rough seas and have only gone out deep 3 times in the last month. We went out and it was 6-8' seas and we were bobbing around pretty good. We all felt queasy and s...
