CLT is a BIG airport with USAir in three different wings of the terminal. One piece of advice - don't rely on what they tell you while you are on the first plane about what gate your next plane will be leaving from, or for that matter, what it says on your boarding pass. We found out the hard way th...

Just beautiful! How did you like it compared to Cinnamon? Had you stayed in a tent or cottage at Cinnamon? Also, it's hard to tell from some of the photos, but I assume all the rooms are screened? It looks so peaceful and like a true getaway! Thanks for sharing!

What a tough decision to make regarding your children. I know there is a 100% deet spray (made by Ben's I believe) that you can get over the internet, but I'm not sure I'd want to put that on a baby either. My advice would be to talk to your pediatrician and, if you are in a major city, contact a pe...

When we used our AT&T phone this month I noticed that sometimes it said "BVI" on the phone and we did not use it then. Once (while at Cinnamon Bay) it said "digi cell" and we used it, we got charged a small fee (it was a brief call). Otherwise we used it only when it said &qu...

We went on our first trip to STJ the first of this month - those are exactly the kinds of things I worried about - finding the ferry, directions, etc.! We rented our jeep from Dependable (not on sight at the airport). We called them when our baggage came out and they arrived within five minutes to p...

I agree with a poster above who mentions a good quality day bed. There are some really nice ones still made. What they offer is the ability to use REAL mattresses and a lot of versatility (can be used as a king or two separate twins).

Just thought I'd report back after our trip with our thoughts on the disposable Fuji. We weren't in a position to buy the Canon D10 (which seems to take fantastic pictures) and we probably won't need an underwater camera again for a very long time, so we went with the Fuji disposable. Sadly, our pic...

Just returned from several days staying at Cinnamon Bay Campground. I can't vouch for the showers closest to the beach, but the ones a bit further down (by the cottages, to the left as you come down the path from the parking lot) were very clean - more so than I expected. However, it is ony cold wat...

May sound silly (and kinda ugly!) but I wore my Crock's (the Mary Jane type with a closed back) nearly everywhere we went - they are closed enough to keep out little pebbles, are waterproof on the beach and more comfortable than I had thought they'd be. Wearing flip flops (or my "fake keens&quo...

We rented from Dependable on STT last week to go to STJ. If you inquire on line they give you a 12% discount which made their prices the best, at least when we looked. We thought they were very nice and professional. Keep in mind though, that if you rent on STT and you have a problem with the car on...

Holy cow - thank god I didn't see this post before I went to STJ!! Just got back on Saturday after spending 4 nights at the Cinnamon Bay Campground. I am a real baby about bugs and we actually "upgraded" to a "cottage" from a platform tent when I read that the tents don't zip clo...

Leaving in two days to do some snorkeling for the first time in more than 20 years. So, can you tell me what fire coral looks like? I know not to touch any coral really, but want to be especially careful about the stuff that hurts! :o
