St John Trip Report from Bob & Sharon
We just returned from our first trip to the Caribbean in 2 years! We did St John to stay in US territory and to snorkel the Caneel reefs & beaches. It was a wonderful trip with us photographing and ID’ing 174 species of wildlife with 70% being fish. We saw four octopuses – all Caribbean Reef snu...

Not in Virgin Islands this year
We have followers in these forums, so decided to post here, although we were not in our beloved Virgin Islands this year. Instead we were in St Barths and Anguilla. It was a wonderful trip, but different for sure. The volume of fish was not as great as around the Virgin Islands, but the variety was ...

Re: Trip Report from Virgin Gorda and St John 2015
Hi Jmq, have done virgin gorda and Guana island, was fantastic. Love our day trips to Cooper, but not sure about staying there. Have stayed at Neptunes on Anagada, you should try that, very remote, and wonderful. Happy New Year!

Trip Report from Virgin Gorda and St John 2015
We just returned from our retreat to the Caribbean. It was wonderful to see our “annual Family” on Virgin Gorda and St John. We set a record for number of fish identified – and saw FIVE octopi! The pictures and trip report can be found at: http://bit.ly/1Mt5clC with Videos updating as time permits (...

About Caneel Bay, St. John, USVI
It saddens us to write this review. What was once our favorite vacation spot has become an overpriced disappointment. The new “culture” since Rosewood is no longer involved, has evolved from a “yes we can” to “I don’t care”. The property is so bug infested that the guests look like small pox victims...

Re: First trip to VG
I forgot to mention "Hog Heaven", so am glad you mentioned it, Equineannie. Fabulous ribs and magnificent view. Also forgot to mention “The Fat Virgin” with it’s great Roti and fish sandwiches.

Re: First trip to VG
Virgin Gorda is a wonderful island. The best food is at “Chez Bamboo” and Little Dix “beach bar”. We charter “Island Birds” from STT to VG airport (not the sea plane). Customs are taken care of in the VG airport and in STT for the return. It is very convenient. If you return through SJ, you are corr...

Our annual Virgin Gorda and Guana Island trip report - 2014
We just returned from our annual retreat to the Caribbean. It was wonderful to see our “Annual Family” on Virgin Gorda and to also explore an island that was new to us, Guana Island. This island is very wild and mostly a nature preserve with superb food, glorious scenery and helpful, professional &a...

The trip started with two weeks on Virgin Gorda where we rented a house near Spring Bay for 10 days then 5 days at Little Dix Bay. We enjoyed snorkeling all over the island and eating at Hog Heaven and Chez Bamboo. We finished u...
