I seem to recall seeing some British and Belgian beers at Starfish but it's been awhile. Who does have the best beer and non-rum liquor selection now that Mixology is effectively closed?

A few questions

Hi everyone, I'm headed back to STJ Nov. 24th-Dec. 17th and need some advice and recommendations. Are there any charters, preferably out of Cruz Bay, that focus more on sailing than snorkeling? Does any charter stop at Sandy Spit or Sandy Cay? I'd really like to visit one of them. I'll be by myself ...

I paid $747 freaking dollars on Delta back in June to fly from Minneapolis back when a second checked bag was only $25 and when it went up to $50 I was grandfathered in because I bought my ticket in June. But now, it's gone up to $50 for everyone apparently, and I'm rethinking bringing a second chec...

I kind of enjoy Trunk on a day when there are four or five ships in port. It's great people watching and they usually arrive after, and leave before, I do. They also tend to stay near the snorkel trail so just grab a spot on the far left side of the beach as you walk in.

Hi everyone, regarding good vegetarian food on island, the aforementioned Satyamuna is very good. The Chinese place (The China Shack) in The Marketplace was good the couple of times I was there but it closed earlier this year. I love the tofu Pad Thai at Rhumblines, I always have it twice when I'm o...

I didn't hear that Cruzan (however you pronounce it) was up for sale again. Here's hoping they bring back the Estate Diamond 5 year, I just discovered it here this summer, my local liquor store still has like five bottles on the shelf and I've been thinking about buying them out since I probably won...

On the subject of airfare, I panicked back at the end of June and paid $747 through Delta, $200 more than I've ever paid on my four previous trips. If I had waited a few weeks I could have saved $80 and flown Delta or USAir, I never bought into the airfare hype we saw earlier this summer but oh well...

Hi, KathyMN, when are you coming down? I'll be there Nov. 24th-Dec. 17th this year. "But it will be tough coming back from paradise knowing that we've got a loooonnnngggg, hard, empty January through April to look forward to." I know exactly how you feel. It is good to see other Minnesotan...

I had a temperamental Birman cat named Duffy who passed away in Nov. 2006 a couple of weeks before I made my third return trip to STJ, but we named him long before I started coming to STJ, he was 15 at the time, weird, huh? He was the best pet I'd ever had.

I vote for the Quiet Mon, I think it's an essential island experience, you gotta go there to meet Kenny (the bartender, not THAT Kenny) if nothing else, he's a great guy. It's fun watching the game there on a Sunday afternoon and I'm not even a football fan.

Hello again Gromit, I've taken the ferry to Jost on my last three trips and never bothered to call ahead or anything. I think it leaves at 8:30 and you want to have enough time to do the paperwork and stuff. Last year, we cleared customs on Jost for the first time instead of Tortola, that was nice. ...

Hey Gromit, you can crash at my place anytime. :) I noticed that we'll both be on island for the December full moon which I think is Friday, Dec. 12th. I've been to Miss Lucy's but not for the full moon party, wanna go down a few rum punches?
