St. John Julie?
Six years ago my wife and I vacationed in STJ and loved every day of it (even when it rained almost non-stop the first two days we were there). Because of this message board, people knew who we were. This year we will be vacationing across the water from STJ in Tortola, so St. John Julie, we'll be w...

Air Sunshine???
Has anyone flown with Air Sunshine?
Their website is horrid, and they have not answered 2 emails and 1 voice mail about their SJU to Tortola service. The price is good, but non-responsive customer service scares me.

Re: Customs & Airport Lines
meh - seaborne doesn't have any flights in or out that fit our schedule (at this time - yeah, we're 3 months out)
But a 2 hour between flight cushion seems reasonable. Thanks AquaGirl!

Customs & Airport Lines
We'll be flying from Atlanta to San Juan then over to Beef Island. I haven't booked the island to island legs yet because I'm trying to maximize island time and minimize lay-over time. What is bare minimum time I should allow for transfer from San Juan to the island hopper, and, of course, the fligh...

BVI Virgin
My wife and I are planning our first "just us" vacation in six years. The last time it was just the two of us (sans various and sundry family members) was 6 years ago when we went to St. John. After doing some shopping, it looks like another VI vacation is more budget friendly than a cruis...

The Tourist Trap was a fun stop. Sitting on Larry's lawn with a bunch of locals was a great way to while away the time. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3036/2886606240_c0777523c3.jpg If you're lucky, brother James will have caught enough local lobster so you can enjoy a lobster salad sandwich, or &qu...

Fish Trap Recent
My wife and I ate there just last week. The food was good. Not great, but not bad. Service was as expected, but the Key Lime tart was awesome :P The Fish Trap store, however, is not in operation due to the increased cost for electricity in the VI. Word is they will still sell fresh fish from the res...

Is "the island" like saying "the country"?Lulu76 wrote: Not to give us a reputation, but generally most folks here mean STJ when they say "island." I know it's my favorite.
I want to see all the pictures when you get back!
Don't worry, Lulu, I'll be showin' em all!

Re: Who will be on the island September 20th to 27th
We will be on the island next week and just wondered if anyone would be visiting from the site. By "island", do you mean STJ, STX, or STT? If you mean STJ, that'd be and the Missus :) We'll be the "fluffy" couple with the constant grins, and I can almost guarantee a camera stuck...

Alton Brown - Feasting On Waves
I have a mancrush on Alton Brown - so sue me. It seems his new show, Feasting On Waves, is about the food and culture of the islands, mon. And Alton has left a "buried treasure" for anyone who can find it. The EXACT co-ordinates are, 18,26,214 north by 64,42,519 west. That puts it in Littl...
