Help - how to post pictures from a Mac
This time tomorrow we will be on the Rock! We've been visiting STJ since the mid 80's and we "think" this may be our farewell trip. I'd like to document the farewell tour with a trip report that includes pictures this time. However I've never been able to figure out how to post the pics fr...

Re: Where have you stayed?
Great Thread. We've been coming down regularly since the mid-80s, translate, I'm old and my memory is fading into the sea so I'm sure I'll leave some out. Gallows: 3 or 4 times, prefer the upper units away from town Opar: 3 times, LOVE the location and breezes Villa St. John, has since changed name,...

Re: Arrival rituals
Great Thread! Need to get a little more action going on the forum as it has been quiet the last few months, so thanks for kicking this off! I have never really thought about day 1 as a ritual but will from here on out. Our day begins like PA girl. We usually use miles to fly first class and do carry...

Sent ours in. Hoping it makes a difference but if it doesn't we will know we did what we could by contributing to the cause and writing to show our support. Here's hoping for a positive outcome!

Re: The real deal on Xmas/NY Eve week?
We've Spent Christmas and New Year's twice on STJ and loved every second. It gets more difficult every year to get the family together on Christmas. Everyone has their own kids, in-laws and distances to deal with so we do the family celebration thing a week early so that frees up Christmas for us. T...

Re: Kenny Chesney "Blue Chair Bay" = St John?
Just wanted to bump this back up for those that haven't seen it. I know it is a commercial for his rum, buy hey you get to look at some great shots of STJ and the song just makes me smile. It's stuck in my head and I just go around humming it all day. Takes me to my happy place!

Re: Save Coral Bay Fund Raiser
As we all know Coral Bay is unique, magical and beautiful. While we only get to visit and will never live there it holds a special place in our souls. We began visiting the Island regularly 30 years ago and St. John and especially Coral Bay brings us a sense of peace. We are glad to do what we can t...

Re: St John vs. St Croix
This thread is bound to be very subjective to personal taste. We've been to STX 4 times and we enjoyed it, how could you not. BUT for us STJ is our happy place. We're heading back to a Villa called Wings Over Water in April, check it out, the location is outstanding.(although we prefer Coral Bay, an...

So many Islands so little time!
Okay, so the title of this thread is a bit of a stretch but ......... We just returned last night from 10 days in the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington. We left Indiana and temperatures in the 90's and humidity that would fill the great lakes! The temp in Washington was the mid-70''s and ...

Sad day in bean town
Well maybe not bean town but a very sad day for us in Coral Bay. Our go to Villa, Casa Tua, has been sold and the new owners are going to live there full-time so it is coming off the rental market. Great for the new owners but depressing for us. We loved the location right on the water and the views...

Re: DONKEY DINER AND ISLAND BLUES
We ate at Island Blues today. The crab cakes may be the best I have ever had. We haven't made it over to the Donkey Diner area yet but I am pretty sure they are still closed. We did go by Pickels today and they do breakfast on the Coral Bay side.

Casa Tua trip report, part 1
We left Louisville and 15 degree temps Saturday morning and flew Delta to Atlanta, of course, and then on to St. Thomas. Great trip, no issues. We had mailed 2 boxes to Connections in advance so we can travel carry on only. I mean really, how much do you need on St John? If the villa has a washer a ...

We here and life couldn't be any better
Our addiction with the rock began in the mid 80's (yes we are old but we wear it well)! Things have certainly changed over the years but STJ remains a special place for us. Kate, my much better half, and our friend Susan both have 60th birthdays this week, in fact today for Susan and tomorrow for Ka...
