The most accurate weather site devoted to the Virgin Islands is www.weathercarib.com - there is not a boater, surfer, or dedicated beachgoer here that doesn't use it on a daily basis.

Currently the water has cleared up fairly well - to see the swell and wave conditions use the graph function on www.ndbc.noaa.gov and look at - station 41043 -- anything 5-6' or below is normal. Mary Pt- Whistling Key- Francis -Maho -Giboney- Scott were all fine the last few days. Some erosion evide...

When you leave the airport in STT on your right just before Island Beachcomber there is a yellow truck operated by Matthew, sitting in the parking lot, he makes the best -IMO- pate. Great way to start your vacation and even better to have on the plane on the way home.

Just came home from a day at Magens beach -- there must have been a hundred sea fans washed up on the west end above the current tide line - purple, green and orange. And I saw a number of people collecting them too. Obviously recent as they were still bright and pliable, and quite odorous! There is...

If she is polite and asks in a nice friendly manner to rest for a bit in the AC it is likely they would welcome her anyway, guest or not. It is s...

Locally it is often referred to as 'the stone masons relief fund house' - the # of workers who sent the kids to school on that construction job will attest to it. Love it or not -- it will be there a long time .

Interesting report so far - wonder about the logic of tying up to any mooring designated for daytime use only versus lying to your own trusty ground tackle if he was worried about the wind though. Anchoring is preferred almost exclusively instead of depending on a mooring that is maintained by who k...

About the reef at Jumbie Bay - a few weeks ago a vessel that transports cruise ship passengers to Trunk Bay for snorkel trips broke free of her mooring and went aground on that reef. The NPS is assessing damage and it sounds as if they are trying to do some repair work as well. That is what the meas...
