How awful! I hope that beyond that and the major roundabout, that things remain relatively untouched.....I assume all the tried and true still carry, island blues, donkey diner, vies, and shipwreck are still relatively intact despite a ruff economy for all.....thx for anything that comes to mind, I ...

Timewarp: what's changed on STJ in 3 years?
Hi All, I may be back on STJ after, choke, gasp, almost 3 years away from this special island....time flies. What has changed? Any favorites that are now gone? Any hot new places to try? Im more of the Coral Bay side of things, but love it all....thanks so much for anything you think to share......c...

I'm not on STJ, but have travelled there enough to know it's got quite a few parallels to AXA in terms of resources. I would say from my experience, you can do anything you really have a passion to do, just go wtih enough knowledge that the rose colored glasses are completely off, and then you won't...

Gromit - that's a bummer, I've been quite succesful with it, granted I do reapply quite a bit, but its great for my skin with the natural oils. Always such a challenge with the bugs, I'll likely become more expert about the subject now living in this tropical climate -- I'll be sure to share any oth...

Of course, like them all, each very unique. But, if I really had to choose just one: Maho, there is magic beyond the obvious beauty there. Maybe Tourist Trap would consider making up batches of smoothies to randomly deliver to Salt Pond? I bet people would pay more than the norm for a cold smoothie ...

The mosquitos love me, too, so I'm always in search of what will work and not feel awful on my skin. I haven't tried Bens, I will definitely keep that one in mind as so many postive reviews. I have discovered a natural alternative: Buzz Away Usually only found in health food stores, its 5% citronell...

Whether one chooses traditional or alternative healing, best advice I can ever give is: No 2 docs are created equal. Meaning in any specialty, there are good ones and not so good ones. Do your homework, ask questions, but most of all go with gut feelings and real, genuine results. Your mind can play...

It sounds like you have a group and might want something budget minded: I recall there is a Chevy's near there, tex-mex, the ingredients are so fresh it makes the simple very good. The Metreon is close, and I think they have a restaurant in addition to the food court. Or, more adventurous: try Caffe...

Thanks everyone for the valuable input. And, certainly Anthony, your links will prove very informative, boy that blog will provide for some of the local colorful stories! I'll be sure to make an effort to visit that gallery as well, their villa looks nice, too. I'll try to add to the somewhat dorman...

Thx so much for the additional info. I'm moving there for a job and have worked with my colleagues located there for some time, so I know they'll show me lots of the ropes there. But, I like to do my own research as well, and would like to have some knowledge base before I arrive... Anthony I would ...
