Just curious...when visiting the Westin pool and beach, do you have to "check in" somewhere or get a special pass from the desk?

a few questions about travel day

I've been reading a lot of reports about travel day and a few questions come to mind. How long does it really take to get from the airport to STJ using the taxi and Red Hook Ferry system? Also, any suggestions on how early we should be at the airport for our flight home? Thanks for your help. citygirl

Thank you everyone for your insight. It looks like the most reasonable thing to do would be to drop them off and then pick them up ourselves. But at least we can steer them in the right direction. Your knowledge and experience is very helpful, I wish I had come upon this site a long time ago. citygirl

Yes, they are 17 and 21. I was thinking that they would probably walk to town but I don't think they'd be able to hike it back up the hill. From what I'm gathering, Serendip is way up there and, I don't know that I'd want them making that trek after dark anyway. Taxi it home would be my guess since ...

any "unsafe" areas that we should know about?

Good morning. I've been looking at many forums (besides this one, sorry folks, no disrespect to this wonderful site) that speak of unsafe areas, or areas to avoid after dark. Are there certain areas that we should be aware of? My concern is that after a long day at the beach, my husband and I...

Coral World Ocean Park

Has anyone been to Coral World? It looks like an all day outing. I'm particularly interested in the swimming with the sharks activity. Wondering if my guys would like that.

Thanks for the tip. We are not big travelers, but we purchased some insurance when we booked our flight through U.S. Air. I thought the policy was going to cover our airfare, but when I read further, it looked like it covered a lot more. I think we'll be okay, but do you think we need more? citygirl

Yikes! Once again, I didn't think about the drinking thing too much. I kind of thought that my 21 year old would sneak something to the younger, even though we have strict family rules about underage drinking. What do we do about that? Any suggestions? Also, we were thinking about bringing frozen me...

Gotcha! We'll pick up the form, have it on hand, and then fill it out on our last night like Jim suggested. Thanks everyone - your suggestions are worth a million. The less surprises we have, the better.

Now I'm really confused :? Are you saying that if your purchases don't go over $1,500 you do not need to fill out the form? Just have the receipts together?

customs form

Out of all the things I've got on my mind right now, customs wasn't one of my concerns but it sounds like a good idea to fill out the form beforehand. Now, do I get this form at the airport? Do I get it when we arrive on STT so we have it on hand to fill out on our last night? Do you put all your pu...

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. We will be staying at the Serendip condos. Philosophy was: if we saved some dollars on the accommodations we'd be able to stay longer. So, instead of one week, we were able to swing a trip for 10 days. We didn't want to spend all our money on meals either, so...
