JJShaw, Yeah it's probably the same cat. We called him "Spooky". There are at least 3 black cats there. 2 hang out at the restaurant area, 1 of those has a tiny bit of white on his throat. "Spooky" seems to like the cottages as his territory. We let him stay in with us on Sat. an...

Bubblybrenda,
Yes we're going back the same time next year (this time for hubby's b-day). We loved how empty the grounds were. Don't think we'd enjoy it as much if all the cottages were full. I'm planning on being the first ones there next year!

Cinnamon Bay Campground Trip Report

It's been almost 3 yrs since our last visit to STJ. We went every Feb. from 2004-2008 and always stayed in secluded villas with pools on the Coral Bay side. I was determined to return this year for my 40th, so this trip was mostly a present to myself and a little bit for my husband (his b-day is a w...

I've always justified taking seaglass with the thought that technically seaglass is old garbage. If it wasn't tumbled enough to be smooth it's a sharp piece of trash that can cut you. I've found sharp pieces like that, that I've put in the garbage.

Camping during a hurricane?

What do the campers @ Cinn. bay and Maho do during a hurricane? Is there a place for them to go or do they have to tough it out in their tents?

i'm staying at Cinn. Bay camp the first week of Nov. I'm determined to do a night snorkle( there will be no moon at that time). Hubby and I are both certified divers. This will be our 6th trip to STJ and we've never gotten out selves out of the villa at night to do a snork but since we're staying ri...

Mar, I would reccomend staying away from "skin so soft", especially in the islands. It first came out when I was in the prime of my horse showing days and all the horse community starting putting it on their horses because they thought it smelled more pleasant then regular livestock flyspr...

I was just hoping maybe someone who'd been there around that time of year may have an approximation for me. I'd been going thru some pics of trips past and checking the shooting data. I have pics of maho and hawksnest taken btw 8:15-8:45am and the sun is just starting to hit the sand. In the past we...

Thanks Gromit, I'm aware and have access to all that info, I'm wondering when sunlight hits Cinn Bay specifically. I've always been on the island in Feb. and stayed down by Kiddle Bay. Little Lameshure has full sun by 7:30-7:45 :D while the northshore beaches didn't have full sun till after 8:45 som...

Sun on Cinnamon Bay?

I'll be staying at the Cinn. Bay campground the first week in Nov.
Anybody know around what time I can expect the sun? I know I'll be waiting for it since I'm usually up btw 5-6. Thanks!

1 of 4,
It's AA in Nov. I normally take flt 655 JFK to STT, and flt 412 from STT to JFK. They're both non-stop but are now no longer running on weekdays in the off season, they're only available on weekends and I can't change my dates.

What's it like connecting flights in San Juan?

Unfortunately the non-stop flight i had booked no longer exisits. Have to make a connection in San Juan. For those of you who've done this what should expect. Will I need to go thru customs and security etc. or will it be simple and hassle free?
