Thanks for the trip reports - love reading them!

BTW, your baby boy sounds like mine. He's almost 2, been on pulmicort once per day since about 6months old....when breathing issues arise, though, it's common to nebulize 4-6 times per day (xopanex). Let's hope they grown out of it!

Turks & Caicos?

We're in pre planning for our next trip, and T&C has been on our radar for a while now. I've heard Provo is great...looking for laid back, on the beach, close to restaurants (but not in the middle of resort craziness). Let me know if you have any recommendations of places to stay, or any other h...

Tupelo Honey is a great restuaruant - definitely give it a shot. Then stroll down to Jack of The Wood (pub) and have a few pints.

I'm jealous. :D

Anguilla is wonderful - you will love it. Have lunch at Gwen's one day...beautiful beach, best rum punch on the island, grouper sandwich w/ the best pasta salad, and you have a perfect afternoon. Straw Hat for dinner will not disappoint.

You MUST do a trip report. :)

I second "The Sex Lives of Cannibals" - hilarious. His other book is great, too.

I just finished "Those Who Save Us", which was recommended earlier in this thread....whoever it was, THANK YOU! Great book. Beautiful, sad, haunting - one of those books that you can't stop thinking about.

Wow, thanks for all the recommendations! Now I'll waste a couple hours of work looking at these destinations....
Should have mentioned in my original post - we love the Keys! But don't think we'll have time on this trip.

Tell me about your favorite Florida vaction spot.....

hubby and I are trying to plan a quick 3-4 day getaway. Want to fly direct from Charlotte, to somewhere in Florida that's not difficult to reach. Criteria: nice beach, beach bars/restaurants/, not super touristy. Ideally, we'd like to go somewhere that we park our car, and then walk to most everythi...

I've never picked up anyone, but have always said that if I drove a pick-up, I'd have no problem with letting someone hop in the back! :)

This story is definitely fishy. I was watching the Today Show this morning during the puking incident, and couldn't believe the reaction (or non-reaction) of the parents. I also thought the Dad's reaction when they "found him" as odd and maybe a bit insincere....if I thought my child had b...

Yes, the Owens family is probably the most well-known, and the oldest, pottery family in the area. Face jugs are really cool, one of my favorite pottery items. The story that I've always heard passed down is this: Face jugs were created years ago when people drank moonshine. they would store it in t...

I have to say I'm thrilled to see this thread!! I'm from Seagrove, my mother is an Owens...she's a potter at the Original Owens pottery, her father was M.L. Owens. My uncle owns and operates Jugtown Pottery. Pottery is a huge part of my family's heritage and history, and I'm happy to see it apprecia...

My husband and I rode out a hurricane in Barbados 2 years ago  . Yep, and you're right - we were using it as a gateway to Bequia. We spent 2 nights there, in St. Lawrence Gap. The staff at our hotel were super nice. Once the hurricane was over, we saw just a little bit of the area - beaches wer...
