The word is that The Cruz Bay Customs and Immigration will close and everyone will have to go to Red Hook. They won't have an office just for St. John.

Hi Maggy,
Your right, the visitors get whacked the hardest when a Government needs extra revenue. Beginning on August 1st the BVI Govt. raised the fee on foreign visitors by $10.00 per person if you travel by sea.. They had to get bigger deposit bags.

Maybe the reason you have to show a government issued ID to prove you're a resident is to protect against "boater fraud".

What just aggravates me to no end is that we have to show a Government issued ID just to ride the ferry. What if i didn't have a drivers license? I would have to show my passport to go to St. Thomas.
